Textured looks with luxury vinyl flooring

If you haven't seen it yet, you'll be amazed when you explore luxury vinyl; it's so realistic even some flooring experts can't tell the difference between that and the real thing. Textures are a hot trend this year, and, thanks to embossing, the most popular ones are also available in this vinyl.

Beautiful grains: the hallmark of wood

With luxury vinyl, you'll get grains, swirls, and growth rings, just as you would genuine wood. You'll also get the features like knots, wormholes, and undertones, all the things that come with the real deal!

Modern technology = textured looks

Luxury vinyl plank or LVP is cut into strips and mounted on boards to simulate hardwood. To add even more to the realism, you can get the same textured looks as you'd find on genuine wood. They include:

1. Wire-brushing: With genuine wood, a wire brush is used to scrape off the outer wood layer, which is softer and lighter. It exposes the dense wood, giving it a time-worn look that enhances the grain.

2. Hand-scraped: In historical times, hand scraping was done with a knife but, in modern times, it uses machines. Each plank has an irregular, random look with highlighted color variations.

3. Weathered wood: This is reminiscent of something that’s been out in the elements for years. Great for barn doors or reclaimed looks.

4. Distressed. Often includes burn marks, wormholes, scrapes, scuffs, and other signs of decay.

Luxury vinyl tile and textures

Honed stone has a smooth, flat surface with a matte, velvety look. Tumbled stone or ceramic tile is a process that gives sort of a pebble-like appearance; they also come in matte, satin, or wood looks. We urge you to come into our showroom to look at our gorgeous samples of LVT from manufacturers such as Mohawk, Beauflor, Pergo Extreme, US Floors, and more.
